Best Medical Stocks To Invest In Right Now

DexCom, Inc.(NASDAQ:DXCM) is a medical device company that pioneered the development of continuous glucose monitors (CGM) used by diabetics to more accurately track their blood glucose levels and control their disease.

Founded in 1999, DexCom competes against industry titans Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) and Abbott Labs (NYSE:ABT) in an addressable market that totals more than 30 million diabetics in the United States alone.

Given there are 1.5 million new cases of diabetes diagnosed every year in America, and the number of people with diabetes is expected to eclipse 50 million by 2030, does DexCom deserve to be a top stock for growth investors to buy?

However, in patients with diabetes, the pancreas either doesn’t produce any or enough insulin (type 1 diabetes) or the body has developed a resistance to the insulin it produces (type 2 diabetes).

Best Medical Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd.(HOLI)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

The stock market finally hit some resistance on Tuesday, giving up ground and breaking a long streak of consecutive advances for most major benchmarks. Market participants got spooked by a rise in interest rates, with 10-year Treasury yields once again climbing above the 3% mark and leading some to predict even steeper advances in the future. With budget deficits ballooning, higher interest expenses on the national debt could have a dramatic impact on the U.S. economy, especially if it lures investors away from high-flying stocks. Yet even amid the bond-driven downturn, some individual companies saw good news lift their shares. Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (NYSE:VRX), Hollysys Automation Technologies (NASDAQ:HOLI), and Ascena Retail Group (NASDAQ:ASNA) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

The Top Stock Market Stories for Monday
Leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) won Mexico’s presidential election last night. The new president is expected to inject a string of nationalist policies that counters U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent rhetoric on NAFTA and immigration. However, it’s uncertain to many how AMLO will specifically address the nation’s systemic violence, poverty, and economic distress. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the top business trade organization in the nation, has hit back on President Trump regarding tariffs. On Monday, the GOP-aligned business group launched a state-by-state campaign that will address rising costs of products to consumers due to tariffs and the potential impact on American jobs. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was an adamant supporter of Trump’s tax policy. The White House has argued that billions of dollars in tariffs are needed to offset trade imbalances with China, the European Union, Mexico, and Canada. Tariffs on China will go into effect this week. Oil prices retreated Monday after both Russia and Saudi Arabia reported an uptick in production. Over the weekend, President Trump said that Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud agreed to pump more oil, “maybe up to 2,000,000 barrels.” However, the White House promptly walked back those statements. Meanwhile, markets continue to monitor stalling economic growth across Asia and the ongoing trade spat between the United States and other nations. The latter could weigh heavily on crude prices.
