Top 5 Undervalued Stocks To Invest In Right Now

When it comes to stock ideas, quality is often better than quantity. In other words, doubling down on a good investment can make more sense than buying a new stock simply for the sake of diversification.

That is the case with this month’s dividend stock pick: Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO). Last month I named the semiconductor company one of two undervalued dividend stocks. But Broadcom’s attractiveness as a dividend stock, even after the stock’s 15% gain since my recommendation last month, is worth emphasizing.

Here are three reasons for income investors to bet on this dividend stock:

1. Broadcom has a meaningful dividend yield

With its annual dividend payments per share equal to 3% of its stock price, Broadcom is one of a few high-quality megacap stocks with such a heady dividend yield. The average dividend yield of stocks in the S&P 500 is more than 1 percentage point lower, at 1.8%.

Top 5 Undervalued Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MJNA)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Sean Williams]

If I were to choose two marijuana stocks right off the bat that I’d rather watch from the sidelines and never buy, it’d be medical cannabis company Medical Marijuana Inc. (NASDAQOTH:MJNA) and cannabinoid-based drug developer AXIM Biotechnologies (NASDAQOTH:AXIM). The reason they’re listed together is because Medical Marijuana Inc. owns 22.67 million shares of AXIM, which is about 40% of its outstanding share count. Their futures really are tied together.

  • [By Sean Williams]

The only other marijuana stock to take a dive in September was small-cap Medical Marijuana, Inc. (NASDAQOTH:MJNA), which shed around 10% of its value.

  • [By ]

Cronos was the first cannabis company to trade on NASDAQ, but the first American cannabis company to do it was Medical Marijuana Inc. (MJNA) . Developing legal cannabidiol (CBD) products made from hemp, Medical Marijuana Inc. had a major increase in sales from 2016 to 2017 and has begun looking into an expansion into international markets. Like with Aurora, these expenses have meant that it’s not making much of a profit. With encouraging signs and warning signs each abounding, it comes down to whether you think this could be worth the risk.

  • [By Sean Williams]

One company aiming to capitalize on this trend in the U.S. is Medical Marijuana Inc. (NASDAQOTH:MJNA), the first publicly traded pot stock in the United States. Medical Marijuana’s RSHO-X brand focuses on cannabidiol-based hemp oils. Cannabidiol is the non-psychoactive component of the cannabis plant known for its perceived medical benefits. Considering that even older Americans have a positive view on medical cannabis, this is the type of company and product that could do well with boomers. Perhaps not surprisingly, Medical Marijuana Inc. recorded its strongest sales month in history in August.

Best Tech Stocks To Watch Right Now

At the height of the dot-com bubble, the Lycos search engine was worth about $240 per eyeball.   About 20 years ago, Internet evangelists argued that profits or even revenue no longer mattered… They created alternative valuations to measure Internet stocks, including the number of "eyeballs" they could attract.   Tech stocks soared. Bulls argued, "This time it's different."   Of course, we know it wasn't. Profits still mattered. And the tech darlings came crashing down – bringing the rest of the market with them. Today, Lycos is worth practically nothing.   "This time it's different" has become a pejorative phrase. It's used by value-investing adherents to tag those willing to buy stocks at anything higher than a reasonable valuation.   So with stocks on the rise… is it different this time?

Medical Marijuana (NASDAQOTH:MJNA) is only a matter of months away from its 10-year anniversary as the first publicly traded cannabis stock. Despite its elder-statesman status, however, Medical Marijuana hasn’t been kind to investors since going public. In fact, the stock is down by nearly 90% since its IPO in March of 2009.

Hot Low Price Stocks To Invest In 2019

Make way for some waves. CVS Health (CVS) and Express Scripts (ESRX) have released their formulary exclusion list for 2017, which details which prescription drugs will not be covered by health plans.

Why do we care? Commercial payors have been showing signs of pushing back against high drugs costs, which is a huge concern for drug companies and their investors. The coverage list determines whether millions of privately insured individuals can easily use an insurance co-payment to buy their prescriptions. If a drug is excluded, it can dramatically hobble sales.

Thus, the formulary exclusion lists can be used as a tool by insurers and PBMs leverage you might say to negotiate with drug makers for better prices. Its also a double edged sword that can cost a PBM customers.

Express Scripts says it will save customers $1.8 billion in 2017 by excluding a list of 85 drugs from its formulary in 2017. It added a handful of new names to the list, including Bristol-Myers Squibb‘s (BMY) arthritis medication Orencia, Eli Lilly‘s (LLY) new psoriasis medication and Valeants (VRX) Zyclara, an actinic keratosis skin cream, while also removing several names, including Pfizer‘s (PFE) arthritis drugs Xeljanz (it is now a preferred alternative follow price negotiations with Express Scripts).

An old go-to “widows and orphans” utility stock, Southern Company shares are down 18% from their 52-week high. The fear is that rising rates equal higher borrowing costs, resulting in compressed margins posing a clear and present danger to the stock’s enviable 5.3% dividend yield.

Hot Bank Stocks To Invest In 2018

The Caribbean is fast approaching tourism season. But this year, some of the islands may not see their vital economic lifeblood.

Several islands are still recovering from the one-two punch delivered by hurricanes Irma and Maria, which razed buildings, knocked out communications and killed dozens of people.

It’s still too early to know the full extent of the damage, said Justin Ram, the director of economics for the Caribbean Development Bank.

Ram said even a 1% drop in visitors could mean the region loses out on about $138 million those tourists would have otherwise spent. In the long term, that could mean a $214 million hit to the region’s GDP.

“That’s just from a 1% drop,” he said.

There is some reason to be optimistic, said Hugh Riley, the secretary general of the Caribbean Tourism Organization. About 75% of the region escaped the storms unscathed.

The airport on St. Martin, an island pummeled by Irma, reopened Tuesday. Local restaurants on Anguilla are taking business, too.

Hot Bank Stocks To Invest In 2018: Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MJNA)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew Briar]

Look out Cannabis Science Inc (OTCMKTS:CBIS), and step aside Medical Marijuana Inc (OTCMKTS:MJNA). There’s a new cannabis name on the scene…. Algae Dynamics Corp. (OTCMKTS:ADYNF). It may not be known (or named) like its marijuana peers, but give it time. This small cap company has a very big idea, and it’s going to sprout soon.

Yes, Algae Dynamics is an algae company. It’s not just an algae company though.

Algae Dynamics is the owner of the proprietary BioSilo ™ process. BioSilo is a way of growing algae quickly and effectively…. a mix of an open-pond system and a photobioreactor, which is a light-driven approach to growing algae. It can be viewed as a “best of both worlds” approach, lowering the typical cost of algae farming, while the modular design makes it easy to maintain.

The company could go a lot of directions with the technology, Most of the tens of thousands of species of algae are rather flexible in how they can be purposed, and what they can become. Algae Dynamics is first focused on the development of two kinds of products though…. Chlorella, and Omega-3.

Chlorella is a type of microalgae that can be processed into a consumable powder by drying it until it takes a powder form, similar to coffee. Chlorella is rich in minerals, prebiotics, vitamins, and other nutritional substances. It can be added to a baked goods and a number of other products, or taken as a supplement on its own. Chlorella is used in over 1,000 products in the food and beverage markets. Algae Dynamics estimates the global Chlorella market was $210.3 million in 2014 and is expected to reach $265.5 million in 2018.

Despite a market for Chlorella in North America, there are no commercial North American producers of it.

Due to its health benefits, Omega-3 oil can be added to a very wide range of products. Consumers are increasingly aware of these benefits too, leading to substantial growth in the industry; health supplements compr

Hot Bank Stocks To Invest In 2018: Allison Transmission Holdings, Inc.(ALSN)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

With a neutral sector rating, we are working on evaluating risks to negative calls, and identifying potential value opportunities. Last week we noted more work might be worthwhile on Wabco Holdings (WBC), Terex, Manitowoc (MTW), and Caterpillar, two of those names have rallied for other reasons but the attractive price made the upside/downside skew up. We remain positive (OW) on Allison Transmission Holdings (ALSN) & United Rentals. Our and consensus 2017Allison Transmission Holdings estimates have fallen by 2% vs. ~15% for the group, while the shares are down 10% since launch. We continue to see United Rentals as the best value in our group…

Recommendation #3 Worked Well – I also recommended that you “buy” any marijuana stocks you liked in late December and in anticipation of late December 2016 tax loss selling followed by a January effect increase in price-per-share or recovery. That is the topic of this article. I also had a few stock picks: (1) Cannabix Technologies (OTCPK:BLOZF) is up 10%, (2) Breathtec Biomed (OTCQB:BTHCF) is up 13%, (3) Bayport International (OTCPK:BAYP) is flat, though news might result in an increase by month end – this is a risky one, and (4) Medical Marijuana (OTCPK:MJNA) is up 6%.

best upcoming stocks to invest in: Uni-Pixel, Inc.(UNXL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Peter Graham]

Small cap sensor film stock UniPixel Inc (NASDAQ: UNXL) is sinking by a double digit percentage in after-hours and pre-market trading after reporting Q4 earnings. The problem for UniPixel is that only a few analysts cover the small cap stock and the bottom line loss was a bit worst than the 10 cent loss they were expecting. The stock also had a slight uptick ahead of earnings:

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

Uni-Pixel (UNXL) manufactures electronic film products using its proprietary manufacturing process, UniBoss. This stock closed up 7.6% to $16.84 in Monday’s trading session.

    Monday’s Volume: 1.88 million

    Three-Month Average Volume: 1 million

    Volume % Change: 108%

From a technical perspective, UNXL bounced sharply higher here right off its 50-day moving average of $15.89 with above-average volume. This stock looks to be forming a double bottom chart pattern at $14.91 to $15.16. If that bottom holds, then shares of UNXL could see a continuation of Monday’s upside action.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in UNXL as long as it’s trending above $15.16 or $14.91 and then once it sustains a move or close above Monday’s high of $17.53 with volume that hits near or above 1 million shares. If we get that move soon, then UNXL will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance level at its 200-day moving average of $19.89.
