Best China Stocks To Watch For 2019

As the fortunes of rival Airbus are shaken by the end of the most ambitious airplane program in its history, Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) has made an unprecedented run at the record books of its own. Boeing shares are up 36% in two months, pacing well ahead of the other components of the Dow Jones industrial average, which is up just 11.6%.

Airbus believed it could build and successfully market a new generation of what the Boeing 747 was — a jumbo jet at the center of the long-haul commercial air fleet for five decades. Cancellation of the A380 by Airbus killed the future of a plane that held as many as 500 seats. Airlines found that smaller more fuel-efficient planes made them more money. Boeing has its competition at the jumbo end of the market.

Boeing had to do more than fight its way through the competition to post a strong rally. Investors have worried that a trade war with China would cut Boeing sales there. China is well along the path to becoming the world’s largest commercial airplane market. The Chinese have not attacked the American airplane industry as a pawn in the trade game, so Boeing may be safe.

Nike Inc. (NYSE: NYSE) is facing a public relations problem this morning and shares are off nearly 2%. Last night, Duke University star basketball player Zion Williamson was injured in the opening minute of a marquee game against the University of North Carolina. Williamson slipped while dribbling and his Nike shoe split apart, causing him to fall and injure his knee. The No. 1 ranked Duke Blue Devils, who were favorites against their rivals at home, were blown out after Williamson was forced to leave the game. The game was heavily televised, attended by celebrities and former President Barack Obama, and fetched ticket prices upwards of $10,000. Williamson is likely the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft this year. The company called the event an “isolated occurrence.” Shares of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN) popped to an 11-year high thanks to a strong earnings report and forward guidance on Wednesday. The fitness and navigation device manufacturer reported that smartwatch sales are “on fire” from outdoor enthusiasts. The firm’s outdoor segment experienced a 25% jump in revenue for the quarter, while the firm hiked its 2019 revenue outlook and topped analysts’ expectations. The news helped boost shares of Fossil (NASDAQ: FOSL) and Fitbit (NYSE: FIT). Shares of Navient Corp. (NASDAQ: NAVI) slid 4.2% after hedge fund Canyon Capital withdrew its bid from earlier this week to buy the student loan servicing giant for $12.50 per share. The hedge fund announced it will now launch a proxy fight to replace many of the company’s board of directors. While this might be bad news for NAVI in the short term, there are still 1.5 trillion reasons to own this stock. What happened

Shares of natural gas and renewable natural gas provider Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE) are up 25.1% at 12:25 p.m. EDT on March 13, following the release of the company’s fourth-quarter and full-year 2018 financial results yesterday after market close.

The company reported revenue and earnings numbers that both came in ahead of analyst expectations. Fourth-quarter revenue was $96.2 million, up 8% from last year, while GAAP net income came in at $6.9 million, compared to a $28.3 million net loss in the year-ago period. So what

It isn’t just the solid revenue and GAAP earnings results that have Mr. Market excited today. Because natural gas commodity prices can swing wildly, looking at revenue alone doesn’t always show whether the company is actually growing.

Top 10 Clean Energy Stocks To Own For 2019: Apple Inc.(AAPL)

This is one of the busiest weeks for earnings this quarter. In addition to TWTR and FB, there are quite a few other tech companies reporting this week. Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) all report after market close on Thursday, Apr. 26. With Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) recently announcing Memoji, an animated personalized emoji that users can control with their faces, Snap is rightly scared.

Another year, another teardown estimating the bill of materials (BOM) for the newest Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone. Last year’s iPhone X was estimated at roughly $370 to build for a base 64 GB model. Investors often use these types of third-party BOM estimates as a way to gauge how profitable the new gadgets are, which has implications for the company’s gross margin. With the iPhone XS Max priced at $1,100 to $1,450, it has the potential to be incredibly profitable. However, the device does have the largest display that Apple has ever put into an iPhone, and it also uses expensive OLED technology.

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

If you’ve been following the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone rumor mill, you probably know that Apple is preparing to launch three new iPhones this year. One of the new iPhones is expected to be an upgraded version of the current premium iPhone X and another is expected to be a larger version of the updated iPhone X, which I’ll refer to as the iPhone X Plus.

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

On Sept. 12, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced three new iPhones. The largest — and priciest — of the bunch is the iPhone XS Max, which sports a 6.5-inch organic light emitting diode (OLED) screen.

Along with its second-quarter results, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced an increase to its quarterly dividend, which extends Apple’s growing dividend history and fortifies the stock’s attractiveness as a dividend investment. Further, Apple’s business looks poised to easily support ongoing increases for years to come.

The consensus view sees U.K. inflation trickling back to the Bank of England’s target by the end of 2019. Bloomberg Economics takes a different view: Even accounting for the recent rally in oil prices, it expects the rate to drop faster this year as companies complete the process of passing on higher import costs to consumers. With domestic costs assumed to build slowly, inflation should drop below the BOE goal next year, before returning to 2 percent in 2020.

Enterprise’s 10-year annualized distribution increase was 5.7%, Magellan’s was 10.9%, and ONEOK’s dividend rose at an annualized 16.1% clip. Just a few percentage points here makes a huge difference in the growth of the disbursement over time, as the chart below clearly shows.

  • [By Reuben Gregg Brewer]

Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE:KMI) is one of the largest midstream companies in North America, and it has major dividend plans between 2018 and 2020. By the end of that period, it expects to increase its dividend from $0.50 per share per year (in 2017) to $1.25. That’s huge dividend growth in a short period of time. But don’t get too enamored by that news; the dividend will still be lower than it was before the midstream oil and gas company’s 75% dividend cut in 2016. If you’re looking for dividend income in the midstream space, take a look at longtime dividend payers ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE:OKE) and Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. (NYSE:MMP) instead.

ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) is off to a fast start in 2018. The pipeline and processing giant has benefited from the improvement in the oil market because drillers are completing more wells, which are flowing into its system. However, as good as the first quarter was, it’s only the beginning for investors, which management made clear on the accompanying conference call with the following points:

Investor Jeff Gundlach may be best known for his bond bets, but he has been talking about commodities as one of the market’s best trades since the beginning of the year.

On Monday he revealed a specific trade for what he sees as an underappreciated opportunity in the energy sector.

Speaking at the Sohn Investment Conference, where many managers disclose their latest investment ideas, the founder and CEO of DoubleLine Capital said he bought shares of the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP) because he thinks energy stocks have not yet received the full benefit of the crude-oil rally.

“It’s lagged in a way that’s kind of bizarre this year,” Gundlach told CNBC on the sidelines of the conference. “It’s not a very great performing sector, and yet oil has gone up towards $70 a barrel.”

Grow Solutions Holdings Inc (OTC: GRSO) acquired Keys Organic and Hydroponic Supply.

"What we are starting to see here is aggregation in the highly-fragmented hydroponic and grow supply industry. Most of these stores, including Keys Organic and Hydroponic Supply, are typically local or regional — This results in a very fragmented market."
"We saw this [aggregation] happen with grocery stores, the finance industry, auto dealerships — Bigger names come in. So, instead of Bob's Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) Dealership or Fred'sGeneral Motors Company (NYSE: GM) outlet, you'll get companies likeAutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN) come in, put them under a single brand, consolidate HR and other expenses to develop economies of scale and really help additional bottom line."
“Another way to look at it is, there's coffee shops all around the world, but there's also Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ: SBUX), which started locally […] and developed really organically. But, they could just buy the local coffee shop, redesign it to the Starbucks brand, put their name on it… Now they have the distribution network, the backing of Starbucks, Starbucks will take care of their HR, their payroll — It's a more synergistic approach and a really value-add if they can consolidate any level of scale.”

&l;p&g;Many of us are probably unfamiliar with the concept of care managers. That may be because geriatric care management is not a clear-cut, licensed profession like nursing or social work. Further, they now call themselves Aging Life Care Managers, a catchall title that does not specify what they can and cannot do.

There is no requirement that someone using this title have a license in any profession. What that means is that the state where they do their work has not set a standard, measured by testing, to use the title nor deliver the services offered. If there is a license in any state there is accountability if failure occurs to maintain professionalism. However, with appropriate vetting by the consumer of services, the care manager can be an invaluable help to families and elders alike.

CVS Health sold off from its high of over $113 to $92 recently as the company issued 2016 guidance that was below expectations. Only six weeks later, CVS increased its outlook for 2016, causing the stock to rally off recent lows to where it currently sits at around $98. We believe CVS offers value because of its undemanding valuation, its focus on returning capital to shareholders, and its exposure to long-term secular tailwinds, including increased health-care coverage, an aging population, and healthcare cost control.

Management recently reaffirmed its long-term target of 10-14 percent EPS growth while also increasing its dividend 21 percent to $1.70 (to a 1.7 percent yield). CVS is committed to increasing its dividend payout ratio to 35 percent by 2018, which implies a compound annual growth rate of 18 percent. Also, we expect $4 billion to $5 billion in share repurchases annually. CVS currently trades at 16.9 times calendar year 16 estimated EPS.

(NYSE: FNV), told German financial newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft last October.

Given revised commodity deck forecasts (particularly for Steel and Gold) and improved Balance Sheet health (Steels, Precious and Industrials Metals) we are upgrading our ratings on several stocks in our coverage. We generally favor companies that have already initiated specific self-help, have low-cost assets and are less exposed to China supply and demand dynamics. In Steels, we have increased our rating from Hold to Buy on Nucor (NUE) and from Sell to Hold on US Steel. We have also upgraded Kinross Gold (KGC) to a Hold on valuation…On higher-than-peer valuations, we reiterate Sell-rated Coeur Mining (CDE), Franco-Nevada (FNV), Goldcorp (GG), Teck Resources (TCK) and highly leveraged AK Steel given preference to issue further equity if possible.

Top 10 Warren Buffett Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Pilgrim's Pride Corporation(PPC)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By John Udovich]

Thanksgiving is almost here but the exit of both Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation (NYSE: PPC) and Smithfield Foods (NYSE: SFD) to focus on their chicken or pork businesses (the latter was also acquired by the Chinese) leaves just two big Thanksgiving turkey stocks, Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL) and Seaboard Corporation (NYSEAMEX: SEB), for investors to consider. According to the American Far Bureau, a 16-pound turkey will (on average) come in at a total of $22.74 this year or roughly $1.42 per pound for a decrease of 2 cents per pound or a total of 30 cents per whole turkey, compared to 2015. The price drop may be a transition back to the norm as the significant bird flu outbreak last year hurt the nations supply of both turkey and eggs.

The firm has upgraded XEL from “Hold” to “Buy,” and has raised the company’s price target from $31 to $32.50. This new price target suggests a 15% upside from the stock’s current price of $27.72.

Top 10 Warren Buffett Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation(SWHC)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Smith & Wesson’s (SWHC) stock has been under pressure ever since Donald Trump’s election victory–it appears that the perceived threat to take away guns did wonders for the gun manufacturer’s sales. Now, Smith & Wesson might also have to deal with competitive pressures that could “challenge” its market share, says Wunderlich’s Rommel Dionisio:

    Getty Images

Given the upcoming mid-January Shot Show, the firearms industrys most important annual trade show, several prominent competitors have already begun to unveil new products for 2017. The flurry of major new product introductions from leading players in the field into the two fastest growing categories of firearms, modern sporting rifles (MSRs) and compact/concealed carry handguns, appear meaningfully more competitive than usual, which could challenge Smith & Wessons (SWHC) market share, which had been rising impressively the past several years. Industry sales are also likely to slow, following unusually high growth in 2016. We maintain our price target of $26, derived using an EV/2016E EBITDA multiple of 6.0x.

Shares of Smith & Wesson have dropped 1.5% to $21.78 at 12:07 p.m. today.

Exploding biotech names are nothing new to this bull market. You might recall the headline swirling around Endocyte Inc. Top 10 Warren Buffett Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.(TSM)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

For many years, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) has relied on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE:TSM) to manufacture the graphics chips it designs. Today, most of NVIDIA’s Pascal architecture-based graphics processors — from the GeForce GTX 1060, designed for mainstream PC gamers, all the way through its cutting edge Tesla P100 datacenter accelerators — are manufactured by TSMC.

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

To illustrate my point, Intel’s chief competitor, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE:TSM), has said that its 7-nanometer technology, which should go into mass production in the first half of 2018, delivers a roughly 1.63-fold density improvement over its 10-nanometer technology.

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

Contract-chip manufacturing giant Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE:TSM) recently announced its earnings results, provided forward guidance for the current quarter, and provided a lot of insight on the ramp-up of its next-generation chip-manufacturing technology, called 10-nanometers (10nm for short).

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

As part of this discussion, he took the time to explain how the technology that Intel calls 14 nanometers is more like what its competitors — Samsung (NASDAQOTH:SSNLF) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.(NYSE:TSM) — call 10 nanometers (smaller is generally believed to be better).

  • [By Ashraf Eassa]

A while back, DigiTimes reported that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE:TSM), a major contract chip manufacturer, planned to introduce an enhanced variant of its 16nm manufacturing technology dubbed “12nm.”

Top 10 Warren Buffett Stocks To Invest In Right Now: BlackBerry Limited(BBRY)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Piyush Arora]

The point that Im trying to make is that BlackBerry is facing an acute shortage of apps, and the fixes available to mitigate the issue, are getting outdated and might not necessarily work in 2017. The company needs to do something about its BB10 OS, otherwise, its remaining base of loyal users might abandon the platform as well. BlackBerry’s (NSDQ:BBRY)turnaround has been moving at snail’s pace. In that context, BlackBerry’s deal with Ford (NYSE:F) to expand usage of its QNX software in the latter’s line of connected cars was welcome news. Many see BBRY’s focus on automotive technology as a potential profit center. Norwegian security firm, Promon, recently gave a demonstration of howTesla (NSDQ:TSLA) cars can be stolen by hackers through the company’s official android application, which many car owners use to interact with their vehicles. This was one of the latest unflattering events to take place for Tesla. But this very news can be good for Blackberry. Here’s why.

  • [By Lisa Levin]

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ: BBRY) reported an unexpected profit for the first quarter. However, sales trailed expectations. The company also announced a stock buyback program.

  • [By Jack Foley]

BlackBerry(NSDQ:BBRY)stock is a very volatile stock. When the company announced its latest set of earnings on the 20th of December, the share price rose to around $8 a share, but since then has plummeted back down to the $7 level. Blackberry is unique in that it is a low priced stock but is just as liquid as many of its peers. This combined with the volatility of the tech sector attracts all types of investors and traders as volatility is a guarantee (which we have obviously seen over the past week or so).

  • [By Kumar Abhishek]

Shares of Ontario-basedsoftware companyBlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) jumped more than 16% in yesterday’s trade, creating a new 52-week highafter the company announced that it has won a windfall of $814.9 million in an interim arbitrationaward against Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM).Moreover, the arbitration award is not appealable by Qualcomm. The final award which will include interest rates and legal fees will be decided on May 31st. The windfall gain has earned BBRY stock price target upgrades from several analysts. The arbitration relates to an overpayment of royalty by BlackBerry Ltd between 2010 and 2015. The question now is, does this one-time award change anything for BlackBerry Ltd stock?

  • [By Sreekanth Anasa]

Shares of San Diego, California-based QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM)plunged further, losing more than 3.5% in yesterday’s trade. QCOM stock is now near its lowest levels since the post-earnings sell off. QCOM stock dipped on account of the smartphone chipmaker losing an arbitration case against BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY). Qualcomm was ordered to refund a sum of nearly $815M to the software company. This comes on the back of the San Diego company’s latest countersuit againstApple (NASDAQ:AAPL). QCOM stock had already been battered this year on account of its mounting legal troubles. With Qualcomm stock trading at such low levels, investors could be puzzled about whether they should buy this dip in QCOM stock. Is QCOM stock headed much lower? Will Qualcomm stock rebound ahead of its earnings? Let’s take a closer look.

Top 10 Warren Buffett Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Canon, Inc.(CAJ)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Carroll]

Nikon’s story is similar to what’s plaguing its Japanese rival, Canon (NYSE: CAJ  ) . Canon’s stock has nosedived by 20% year to date, but the stock’s recovered nearly 3% over the past month. Don’t let appearances fool you: The company slashed its full-year sales and profit forecasts back in July, as the worldwide camera market has slumped, and as smartphones continue to take over this aging niche. Canon’s route back to respectability looks like a treacherous climb.

  • [By Paul R. La Monica]

Miscellaneous shorts. Lamensdorf is also betting against Japanese printer and camera giant Canon (CAJ) since he believes the company still hasn’t figured out a way to compete with smartphones.

Top 5 Performing Stocks To Buy Right Now

It’s been an interesting few years for T-shirt manufacturer Delta Apparel (NYSEMKT:DLA). A huge spike in cotton prices in 2011 helped turn a near-$2 EPS in FY11 into a loss in FY12. (DLA fiscal years then ended in June; the company moved to September in 2013.) Delta managed to recover in FY13, getting EPS back over $1 – and then the company’s Soffe brand started falling apart, pushing the company back into the red in FY14. Shares fell by more than half between late 2013 and late 2014.

In response, Delta management decided to cut corporate costs to improve margins, and the acquisition of popular brand Salt Life in 2013 added a potential growth engine to complement the relatively stagnant core business. At the beginning of 2015, shares languished around $8; they’d spike to $25 by July 2016, as adjusted earnings improved substantially. After another pullback, a post-election run has moved DLA to just over $20.

Looking forward, I do think there’s more upside, with another round of significant cost savings due to hit the P&L in FY17. The risk is that those cost savings need to be balanced against a core business that still isn’t performing all that well, and a business that over the long-term hasn’t exactly been impressive in either growth or shareholder return:

Top 5 Performing Stocks To Buy Right Now: Staples, Inc.(SPLS)

Advisors’ Opinion:

The company was set to merge with its last remaining rival, Staples Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS), this year, but was denied by a federal judge on May 10 because of antitrust concerns.

  • [By Chris Lange]

The S&P 500 stock posting the largest daily percentage loss ahead of the close Tuesday was Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) which traded down 5.3% at $8.49. Struggling office supply giant Staples Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) may have just found a way out of its imminent demise… Sort of.

The Wall Street Journal reported today (April 4) that Staples is exploring a sale and is “in talks with potential private-equity bidders,” roughly one year after a federal judge blocked its proposed $6 billion tie-up with Office Depot Inc. (Nasdaq: ODP).

Staples (SPLS) soared to the top of the S&P 500 today on reports that the office-supplies retailer was considering selling itself.

    Agence France-Presse/Getty Images

Staples gained 9.8% to $9.51 today, while the S&P 500 ticked up 0.1% to 2,360.16.

CFRA’s Efraim Levy doesn’t see a “natural buyer” for Staples but remain Buy rated anyway:

Shares are higher on an unconfirmed WSJ report that SPLS is looking at the possible sale of the company. Our fundamentally valued 12-month target of $11, applies a below historical average P/E of 12.1X our FY 18 EPS estimate, given office industry challenges. Our target has 11% upside, plus a 5.5% yield. We don’t see a natural buyer for a large physical store office supply presence, although an activist/private-equity buyer is a possibility. To make an acquisition worthwhile, a buyer would have to be more aggressive in cost cutting and use of cash flow than SPLS’s existing plan.

Staples’ market capitalization rose to $6.2 billion today from $5.7 billion yesterday. It reported a net loss of $459 million on sales of $18.2 billion in fiscal 2017.
