Today, Bill offers our readers a few of his favorites as Trump meets with Kim Jong Un. Here’s how to cash in regardless of how this summit turns out in the long run.

The Top Stock Market Stories for Tuesday
Last night, President Trump met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore. This was the first meeting between a sitting American president and a North Korean leader. Following the agreement, analysts noted that the document signed by both parties included no concrete details for achieving denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. Trump responded to criticism by saying he is fully confident that the Korean dictatorship will follow through. A U.S. district court will rule on whether to approve an $85 billion merger between AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) and Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX). The decision comes after about six weeks of debate in a courtroom. The ruling will likely have a significant impact on the proposed bid by The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) for media giant Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. (NYSE: FOXA). The Fed Open Market Committee kicks off its June meeting today. The U.S. central bank is expected to raise interest rates for the second time in 2018. On Wednesday, U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will likely announce a hike of 0.25% to the benchmark rate to 2%. This would also mark the seventh hike since December 2015. Markets will be looking for clues during Powell’s conference to determine how many additional times the Fed plans to raise interest rates during the final six months of the year.

Tuesday saw a mixed session on Wall Street, with various market benchmarks moving in different directions. Investors seemed reasonably neutral about events in Singapore, where leaders from the U.S. and North Korea met and came to some minor agreements that viewed in the most favorable light could provide a road map for future negotiations. Yet investors seem more concerned about what the Federal Reserve’s interest rate setting board might do later in the week, with a two-day meeting starting today to consider whether further rate increases are warranted. Even with the relatively flat performance from the market, some companies had good news that sent their shares sharply higher. Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), Sage Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SAGE), and Lands’ End (NASDAQ:LE) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

Hot Undervalued Stocks To Own For 2019

Investors in NorthStar Realty Europe (NYSE:NRE) woke up to news Tuesday morning that one of the company’s largest investors is looking to shake things up at the company. Senvest Management, which owns 9.55% of NorthStar, is pushing the company’s external advisor, Colony Capital (NYSE:CLNY), to realize value at the undervalued European REIT, after years of a stagnating stock price.

Senvest outlined three major ways for Colony to proceed, though I think only one way will be acceptable to Colony. So here’s what investors in NorthStar should know about this potential activist attack.

Senvest goes on the offensive

By way of background, NorthStar Realty Europe was spun off as an externally managed REIT from NorthStar Realty Finance in 2015. Since then, the stock has traded consistently below its net asset value (NAV), which is $20.95 per shareas of June 30. While NorthStar Realty Europe has taken moves to realize some value, including paring down its portfolio of real estate and repurchasing stock at major discounts, the stock has never gotten close to that NAV figure. In addition, the company renegotiated its onerous management contract with Colony. Colony owns 11.3% of NorthStar.

Hot Undervalued Stocks To Own For 2019: Xcel Energy Inc.(XEL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

Late last year, Xcel Energy (NASDAQ:XEL) became the first utility to publicly and boldly commit to generating all of its electricity from 100% carbon-free sources by 2050. While individuals and groups who take environmental stewardship seriously cheered the news, individual investors and Wall Street analysts should be cheering, too.

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

Xcel Energy (NASDAQ:XEL), which owns one of two investor-owned utilities in the state, has already exceeded the 30% target. But it knows even more ambitious standards are coming in the not-too-distant future. That’s why it’s proposed an ambitious new power plan to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) that would allow the company to generate 55% of its power in the state from renewables by 2026. It would also double the company’s current total solar capacity.

  • [By Jason Hall, Chuck Saletta, and Maxx Chatsko]

It gets even better with dividend stocks, which can raise the payout regularly, further boosting your returns and making it easier to hold through the market’s ups and downs. We asked three Motley Fool investors who know a thing or two about finding great dividend stocks to identify their top dividend stock ideas; they made compelling arguments for Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (NYSE:BIP), Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE:WM), and Xcel Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:XEL).

Top 10 Casino Stocks To Buy Right Now: Orbital ATK, Inc.(OA)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Lisa Levin]

Defense giant Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) confirmed Monday it will buy Orbital ATK Inc (NYSE: OA), the maker of the Pegasus rocket and a vast array of other aerospace and defense systems, in a $9.2 billion deal.

  • [By Rich Smith]

Orbital ATK (NYSE:OA) occupies a charmed space in the U.S. market for putting satellites in, er, space.

At one end of the space launch continuum, you have United Launch Alliance, whose Delta IV Heavy launch vehicle, developed by Boeing (NYSE:BA), can put a payload massing in excess of 28 tonsinto orbit in a single launch — at a cost of $350 million. At the other end, new space start-ups like Vector Space are promising to launch a new generation of small satellites into low-earth orbit for prices as little as $2 million a shot. But what about the middle?

  • [By Rich Smith]

Now consider that as of the last report, Americans owned 265 million guns — but fewer than 1 million silencers. That’s a huge market that American Outdoor Brands and Sturm, Ruger would love to sell into. Easing restrictions on silencer sales could have follow-on effects, too. Granting easier access to suppressors could reduce noise complaints at open-air shooting ranges, making it easier for such businesses to open, which would attract more customers, resulting in more ammunition being used, resulting in more ammunition being sold, resulting in more sales (and profits) for ammo makers such as Olin Corp (NYSE:OLN), Vista Outdoor (NYSE:VSTO), and Orbital ATK (NYSE:OA).

  • [By Jim Powell]

My top recommendation for the privatization of space is Orbital ATK (OA), which was was formed early last year from the merger of Orbital Sciences and the aerospace division of Alliant Techsystems.

RBC’s Simos Simeonidis and Matthew Eckler try to find the right comparison for Pfizer’s (PFE) purchase of Medivation (MDVN):

    Scott Eisen/Bloomberg News

We were obviously wrong with our Sector Perform rating: while we knew an M&A transaction was definitely a good possibility, we just could not get to this level of valuation using a realistic Xtandi model and thus could not recommend the stock. The only way for us to get to $81.50 (or even to $60-$70/share) would have been to assign very significant value to talazoparib. And we could not do that given the amount of available clinical evidence.Medivation shareholders who held on to their shares past the $50′s, did just that, were proven right and are now rewarded for it, since they believed that someone would be willing to pay for this asset just months ahead of Phase III data. The key question is why would a company be willing to part with what they claim/think may be a multibillion dollar drug that works in multiple cancers. We believe the obvious answer is because they’re smart and understand drug development risk better than most. We’ll know in a matter of months whether Pfizer/Medivation is like Amgen (AMGN)-Onyx (carfilzomib) or not.

Of the three biotech giants, Citigroup’s Robyn Karnauskas and team argue that Amgen is best positioned to win the battle. They explain why:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Last night, Bloomberg reported that Sanofi (SNY) had made a bid for Medivation (MDVN) but had been rebuffed, while noting that other companies–perhaps Gilead Sciences (GILD), Amgen (AMGN) or AstraZeneca (AZN)?–were also on the prowl. SunTrust Robinson Humphrey’s Peter Lawson explains why Medivation might be biotech’s most wanted:
