Top 5 Tech Stocks To Buy For 2019

The smart speaker market is already proving to be a massive success for some of the world’s biggest tech companies. Worldwide shipments of the devices grew by 187% in the second quarter of this year, with Alphabet’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google and Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) leading the way, according to new data from Canalys.

Google Home’s smart speaker held onto its top spot from the previous quarter and shipped 5.4 million of its devices to take 32.3% of the worldwide market. Meanwhile, rival Amazon — whose Echo speakers were once the undisputed smart speaker leader — shipped 4.1 million devices and currently has 24.5% of the market.

Amazon had a head start in the smart speaker space, but Google’s current lead shows just how good the tech giant is at entering new tech markets and dominating them.

  • [By Lou Whiteman]

Whiteman: Sure. Leidos (NYSE:LDOS) is the one I would look at more than anything. The ticker there is LDOS. They, thanks to a deal in 2016 that purchased the IT business of Lockheed Martin, are the largest business in terms of revenue in an area where scale is very important — manpower, getting these big contracts, the contracts are ever-bigger. With the budget deal passed earlier this year, a lot of this IT work is what got pushed to the sidelines or delayed. They weren’t going to stop buying F-35s because of sequestration. What they did was, they stopped awarding these IT contracts.

Top 5 Tech Stocks To Buy For 2019: Texas Instruments Incorporated(TXN)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By John Ballard]

You don’t always have to chase the fanciest tech companies to find growth in the market. A case in point is Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN), which has delivered market-beating returns over the last decade making chips for things as banal as electric toothbrushes, among many other electronic devices.

  • [By Leo Sun]

That was troubling, since other chipmakers fared better in China during the same period. Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN), which provides a wide variety of analog and embedded chips for cars and industrial machines, reported that its sales in China rose almost 7% annually last quarter.

  • [By Daniel Sparks]

For investors looking to add a few high-quality dividend stocks to their portfolios, here are two companies that not only pay meaningful dividend yields, but also boast dividends that have been increasing rapidly. These companies are semiconductor company Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN) and vacation resort operator Vail Resorts (NYSE:MTN).

  • [By John Ballard]

Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN) and Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) are two growth stocks that have a proven record of consistently raising their payouts to shareholders. Even better, both companies raised their dividends more than 10% in the last year, making them worth considering to buy and hold for the long term.

  • [By Anders Bylund]

Semiconductor veteran Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN) reported first-quarter results after the closing bell on Tuesday, and ripped Wall Street’s estimates to shreds. TI’s shares surged nearly 6% higher in after-hours trading, largely erasing the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) hangover that hit the same stock a week ago.

  • [By Max Byerly]

Charter Trust Co. lessened its holdings in shares of Texas Instruments Incorporated (NASDAQ:TXN) by 4.1% during the 2nd quarter, HoldingsChannel.com reports. The institutional investor owned 37,489 shares of the semiconductor company’s stock after selling 1,598 shares during the quarter. Charter Trust Co.’s holdings in Texas Instruments were worth $4,134,000 at the end of the most recent quarter.
