Top 5 Warren Buffett Stocks To Watch Right Now

There’s an idea floating around that once Warren Buffett is no longer part of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A)(BRK.B), it will collapse. At a minimum, there’s concern that the “Buffett Premium” can be attributed to his individual skill:

More broadly, his value add is in capital allocation, which is basically the art of determining what to do with cash. He is objectively superior at that, which increases the likelihood of the company’s cash balances (and future cash income streams) being invested to earn a high return.

But Buffett’s made it clear that Todd Combs and Ted Weschler have previously done, and continue to do, a superior job. For example:

Both men are hedge fund veterans with impressive track records. For example, Weschler’s fund delivered 1,236% in gains in just 11 years before he closed it — roughly 9 times the gain of Buffett’s stock portfolio during the same time frame.

Combs ran a hedge fund from 2005 to 2010, and his returns over that period were 34% whereas the S&P pulled about 3%. So, again, these guys know what they are doing on the stock picking side of things.
