The Indian equity market continued trading on a negative note on Wednesday afternoon with the Nifty shedding 28 pointswas trading at10,585 while the Sensex wasdown 77 points or 0.22 percent.

The Nifty IT index jumped over 1.5 percent in theafternoon trade led by Mindtree which added 3.2 percent followed by Tata Elxsi, Tata Consultancy Services and Tech Mahindra. Infosys, HCL Tech and Wipro were the other gainers.

Nifty realty index was also outperforming the broader indices, gaining 1.2 percent led by Brigade Enterprises which zoomed over 8 percent followed by Indiabulls Real Estate which added 4 percent. Oberoi Realty and DLF were the other gainers.

The top Nifty gainers includedBharti Airtelwhich was up 4percent followed by TCS which added 1.8 percent. Tech Mahindra, Mahindra& Mahindra and Infosys were the other gainers.
